WHO WON?
Certainly not the Lebanese! Ok, lets review..... Soldier kidnapped then retaliation by invasion. With the invasion underway, the US (thats us) basically does nothing which is better than we did last time when we helped bomb Lebanon into the stone age.
We gotta come up with a better plan than this folks! The US and France helped broker a stop to the fighting but the US is still seen as the evil infidel which is convenient for those who want to spread anti-US propaganda to the uninformed who will believe anything.
Here it is. The US is still the bad guy here. Isreal is WAY to prone to war. And they are only following what big sis (US) does. We gotta set the example and use other means to settle disputes. I dont mean roll over and take it but I do mean use our heads.
The US was not elected world police and needs to be a citizen and not king. More humility on the part of our government would take the fire out of the arguments against us. Working in the background rather than shooting up someones home will be more beneficial to our foreign policy.
That said, I believe our intelligence organizations are running on a short leash with one arm tied behind them by our congress. Its time for the US to change modes to covert rather than overt. If Iran can have someone killed who they disagree with, why can't the US bump off a dictator that mass murders citizens? NOOOO our government would rather allow all the citizens in Iraq to sufffer war and watch our own citizens die in war than to have bumped off Saddam. Saddam will probably sue the us for $10,000,000 for wrongful death of his kids and win in some US court run by a liberal judge.
Now who pays for all this? US
Wouldnt it be fantastic to have candidates in November that weren't bought and paid for? Wouldn't it be great to have people in office that wanted to serve rather than line their pockets? It would be so why are we electing these money grabbing, power grabbing talking heads?
