Gay Marriage

What is a marriage that the government has to get into the act? Is not marriage between two (or in some societies more) people? Tradition and morals have limited acceptable marriages to those between one man and one woman.

Marriage is a merger of individuals to form a family in most cases. The legal portion of the marriage is for the protection of the individuals in the marriage including any children in the family. By making marriage illegal to families with same sex partners it is the child who is left without protection.

The marriage license required for a marriage is for the protection of the marriage partners. It assures the health of the individuals. This helps prevent the spread of diseases such as aids.

So by outlawing same sex marriage the result achieved by our self righteous leadership is to leave children without legal protection and spread aids. Surely only the uninformed would believe it will stop the union of individuals who are in love with each other.

What is moral? Who determines if something is right or wrong?? In my view the country cant have it both ways. Either there is a higher moral authority or there isn't. The supreme court has determined that there isn't, apparently unless you consider the court itself as attempting to assume the role.

By their standards the law cannot interfere with an individuals rights therefore any attempt to outlaw the union of individuals in a marriage or merger for the purpose of simply enjoying life together is by the courts own admission in previous cases simply unconstitutional therefore not enforceable.

Unless the leadership is stupid why doesn't it realize this and pursue things like global warming, poverty, joblessness, starvation?? Because it sells news gets attention and votes and takes the public attention away from real issues? I think that is the only reason.

Regardless of your moral view it is only your opinion. Gods court has not yet been called into session. When it is you can make your case. If you say there is no God or higher spiritual authority then why are you arguing about morality? Without a higher authority, there is no morality...Only accepted tradition! Note how tradition is changing in just the US alone. In the 1950s a child would not dare talk back to a teacher in school. Now the child is killing the teacher and students when it gets upset.

Yeah, what a great job our leadership has done!
